WORK:  Following high school, I worked occasionally as a newspaper correspondent, taught high school biology for several years and worked as a medical technologist for many years.
I had always wanted to earn a doctorate which I finally did just ten years ago and then I joined my husband in retirement rather than establish a practice.
My most rewarding job has been raising our five wonderful children and now enjoying our eight grandchildren.

I started out my musical career playing in bands locally during high School as well as accompanying vocal ensembles for Mrs. Hill. I attended SUNY Fredonia for two semesters, playing in my own jazz trio in the Fredonia area (had my own morning rado show live from a diner). Next, I played with racially mixed bands out of Syracuse and Ithaca. Next, I met my wife (English) at an Opera class at SUNY Oswego. We moved to London, and a British movie star, Diana Dors (the British Marilyn Monroe), recorded my first song called "Security" (written in Oswego). I teamed up with a British Lyricist, Sylvan Whittingham, whose father had a film hit at the time, the screenplay for the James Bond thriller, "Thunderball". I also joined a British rock band, and we recorded two single records for CBS. I returned to the U.S., and was hired in New York City as a staff songwriter for Roulette Records. I did studio musician, arranging and orchestrating work on the side, traveling to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Nashville, Las Vegas, and eventually I toured Europe with Aretha Franklin as her accompanist. We recorded the "Aretha in Paris" album live on this tour at the Olympia Theater in Paris, and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and other places around Europe. In New York, I recorded with King Curtis, Freddy Hubbard, Wilson Pickett, Grady Tate, Tommy James and the Shondelles, The Turtles, The Lovin' Spoonful, Dusty Springfield, Brook Benton, and many others. On the West Coast, I arranged and recorded with the Fifth Dimension, The Everly Brothers, Johnny Rivers, Diana Ross, Mark Benno, Rita Coolidge, Jeff Comanor, Danny Cohen, and many others, including demo work for Motown Records. Then, as studio work in Hollywood was drying up (the move to Nashville had begun for many studio musicians, I moved back to New York, and switched careers to computing.  I also converted to Catholicism (the best move I ever made), became a church organist at Saint Veronica's parish in Greenwich Village, became an auxiliary policeman at the Sixth Precinct (Greenwich Village) and then joined the U.S. Army, (Infantry). After basic trainng a Ft. Polk, LA, and Ft. Benning, GA, and some parachute jumping, I served two years in Nuremberg, West Germany; then, once off active duty, I joined the Reserves, and finished my Bachelor's degree here in Oswego. I then studied at the Eastman School of Music, but the daily drive from Oswego to Rochester was too grueling. Basically. I just wanted to continue to write songs (I have 45 songs recorded). For awhile, I taught a songwriting course at SUNY Oswego. In 1998, after becoming a USAF Historian, I won the Beckwith Havens award for outstanding USAF History. I built our house in Fruit Valley virtually alone, and finished my Reserve duty in the USAF in 2004, (one of my last missions in the Reserve was to provide security at the site of the WTC just after 911). I then was hired as a contractor/engineer at the USAF Research Labratory in Rome, NY (a 150 mile round trip drive every day) where I did classified web development (SIPRNET), and research on UAVs (drones). I wrote and obtained a patent which the Secretary of the Air Force accepted, entitled "Aerial Rearmament" (similar to aerial refuling but with ammunition). I continue to write songs - and always will. Maybe some day I will have a big hit.
